Set Your Intentions: How to Effortlessly Manifest a Life of Wellbeing

You can write yours down in the present tense “I am” as a reminder when building new habits I find reminders like these really helpful. The most helpful is the inner dialogue shift that begins to occur day to day, moment to moment. There will be this moment in between stimulus and response, that your intentions will radiate. Self-talk is on-air 24/7, 365 and it goes with you everywhere. It transforms into our speech and actions with those we interact with, it translates into the efforts we put forth (or don’t) at home or work, in every area of our life.

“Intention is the breath of air that fills the sails of your goals”

Intentions are different than goals. An intention may be to move about your day with ease. A goal may be to leave the office on time. A goal could be having a clean house, with everyone’s help. The intention would be to foster a feeling of teamwork and contribution while providing a good example for a young child. An intention is the energy you bring to your actions, of enjoying a weekend when the goal is to go to a motocross race, intention- inspire and empower employees goal- completing the project.

You can begin to see the connections. It is also important to understand that intentions are limitless. While I encourage you to dream big, and set high goals so that you may land among the stars, I encourage you to set intentions even further beyond the horizons.

It is about shifting the vibrations you carry with you and inevitably seep into your relationships and life. You can shift a feeling of lack, to that of satisfaction. Intentions make you more effective and get you out of your head.

Intentions are more about who and what you are, vs the “what you do” or goals which are sure to follow when you’re operating from a place of set intentions. We separate our identity from our roles. Intentions come from the heart, the soul, your true essence. Remembering that who we were, is not who we are, and with limitless potential in mind, giving yourself the permission that who you are is not who you will be. While applying the present tense mindset of ‘I am’ form the beliefs and supporting habits that start to shape that future person you so intend to be, in this very moment.

“I am loved, I am loving, I am worthy, I am deserving. I am fun, I am confident,  I am light, I am agreeable.” Those are some of mine. These are all different ways that guide my way of being whether alone, or whether I am interacting or “showing up” for someone else. I am happy to be transparent with you and share what can be a very vulnerable and private thing. If you walk through my house you will see these posted here and there, I can promise you they have brought more good into my life, and the lives of others by having them in plain sight, than by hiding them out of fear.

Consider re-aligning yourself with your body, your mind, your core values. Get tuned in, tapped in and turned on to receive the messages that we so frequently ignore, numb (with what we think to be acceptable coping mechanisms) or seek symptomatic relief for a what really is holistic dis-ease.

“What your body is telling you is more important than all the shit in your head.”

Nourish your life through the wisdom of what harmony feels like, and experience more of it, bask in it when you find it. Recognize contrast for what it is, be grateful for it showing up, to open up your eyes. Let go of the resistance that comes with the ‘eb’ of being out of flow, having faith that this too shall pass, but it is there for a purpose. (Otherwise, while it may pass, it may continue to show up if you don’t learn.) When you are in flow or in balance your feelings are that of ease, satisfaction, fulfillment, engagement, comfort, secure and so much more.

Choose love, compassion, kindness move to and from you when you are in states of enjoyment.  Being aware of what the recipe helps you follow that path, or better yet, create that path for yourself and as an organic byproduct, for others. I say it frequently choice is the most powerful tool humans have to our advantage in life.

Let go, surrender, allowing, receiving. Intentions aren’t to be forced upon ourselves, someone else or in life. Practicing a non- attachment approach, it isn’t about the outcome of our goal, you see. Intentions are set and our job after setting them is to allow it to unfold, manifest, course correct. Our beliefs will follow, our speech will automatically change the conversations we have, and our actions will set us on a path to leading to new lives inspired through intentions.

Be the light, the kindness, the creativity, the abundance, the connection.
