Title:

Get MotiVETed Wellbeing Intern

Purpose:

To help grow the Get MotiVETed nationwide veterinary network at the undergraduate level and to gain skills in networking, personal development, and veterinary wellbeing.

Description:

Company is looking for a qualified intern to join our veterinary wellbeing networking and outreach team to help the company grow our nationwide network. The intern will be assigned a territory including 10-20 colleges/universities and is challenged to build a working relationship with a faculty member and a student within each college/university

This intern should be ready to work in a self-paced remote environment complemented by frequent conference calls with the company leadership, intern coordinator, and other summer interns.

Interns will finish the internship having gained experience in personal/professional wellbeing, sales, networking, and personal development. Most importantly, the student will be proficient in understanding the principles of personal wellbeing, which will be essential for ensuring a successful and fulfilling veterinary career.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Obtain 2 points of contact for each pre-veterinary or animal science university in your assigned territory within the continental U.S., and enter contacts into the Customer Relations Management (CRM) database
  • Obtain 2 points of contact for 1 undergraduate college/university outside of the continental U.S.
  • Build a strong relationship with and gain buy-in from one student and one faculty member within each college/university in your territory
  • Build good rapport with assigned colleges/universities
  • Document all communication, activity, successes, and challenges into the CRM
  • Complete one of the books on the Get MotiVETed recommended reading list
  • Provide support for all social media outreach efforts
  • Participate in weekly conference calls to discuss new ideas, challenges, and successes
  • Compile and organize all findings and results into a presentable format to be presented by webinar/video format at the end of the internship

Requirements:

Company is looking for an undergraduate student who is pre-veterinary focused. This student should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a basic knowledge of social media. The student should be proficient in using email and the telephone to communicate with members of the undergraduate and pre-veterinary community. PowerPoint, Word, and CRM experience is recommended.

The student should be highly motivated to be a part of a new and innovative effort to drastically decrease (and eventually end) poor wellbeing in the veterinary community.
